Derby Girls
As Spring approaches, whereas some might look forward to the start of the baseball season, I can look forward to the start of . . . roller derby.
April 4th will be the opening match for the Chattanooga Roller Derby. A short while back, I had the pleasure of getting their headshots together for the new season.
I love their noms de derby, like Kaos, Taratorial, Goldie Knocks, and Sneak Her Baby. I love the family friendly atmosphere of their matches - seriously, it is NOT about brawling, it is about skill and competition. And I just love kickin’, badass women like these!
So, are you going to be at Chattanooga Convention Center on April 4th?

On a side note, I came in first place in the Laughlin Print Competition for the month of February, hosted by the Professional Photographers of East Tennessee. This image was taken at one of the matches and sometimes the scrum of ladies can be like a Renaissance painting.
