A Very Good Year Starts With a Proposal

It has been a while since I have blogged about marriage proposals but this year I am closing in quickly on my 100th one! But let’s look at the first one for 2023 - when Connor asked Maddy that so important question and, of course, she said yes!

The scene was at Newfound Gap with a temperature of around 25F. Well, yes - it is, after all, at 5,049’ in elevation. But just after sunrise, while doing little to warm the air, the sun does bathe the mountainside in gold. Which makes it perfect for a marriage proposal!

Do we love the back glow outlining them? Yes, we do!

Did you know in over 90 marriage proposals that I have photographed . . . the response has never been “No?”

One of the benefits of proposing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the diversity of beautiful locations. Now, these two fine people are from Houston, Texas and they are not going to have a wild mountain stream, as an example, for a setting. I am always happy when I can find my clients a spot they don;t have at home to remembe their time in the mountains. Believe it or not, a lot of these locations are just off the road - easy to access!

By the way, Maddy and Connor are Aggies - alumni of Texas A&M, a fine university, indeed.

Connor chose to have a video done for Maddy because, between you and me . . . I think he’s in love. And I am happy to say, Maddy loves him!

You can’t tell me that I don’t have the greatest job in the world. You just can’t.

Let’s have more love in 2023!
