Setting Spotlight: let me show you some of wonderful places I ahve used for sessions. In this inaugural post for this series, let me introduce you to Tsali Notch Vineyard, a beautiful place for all types of sessions. Gracie and Jen had a fun and varied engagement session in Chattanooga, ranging from clowning around on the soccer field to romantic moments as the sun set over the Tennessee River.

Lauren and David, a great couple from Florida, had their engagement session in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Cades Cove is a marvelous place for a variety of settings - and bears!

Alex and Ryder had a delightful engagement session in the river town of Reliance, Tennessee. It is a spot that provides variety, all in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Hiwassee River. And heading up into the Cherokee National Forest, there are even more cool spots - check it out!

Katrina and Myriam are a laid back and easy going couple, which is why one of their favorite coffee shops in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was the perfect setting for their engagement session. Capturing the love between these two women and the stimulating conversation post-session with them was a gift to me!

There are advantages to having an engagement session in studio versus outdoors, and gives a look that some have described as more “painterly.” Check out Courtney and Brandon’s session!

Rachel has two special men in her life - so it was only natural for her to want both at the engagement session! Check out Rachel and Daniel’s engagement pictures, taken on Daniel’s cattle farm. Farm living is the life for them!

“I’d like a place with an old truck.” Tsali Notch Winery delivered both that and a beautiful setting for Kristina and Luke’s engagement session. Vineyards are romantic, don’t you think?

The abandoned cabins at Elkmont lent a cool, “urbex” feel to Olivia and Daniel’s enagement session but even with a steady rain, much fun was had! Check out their images in this blog post.

Jessica and Tate had their engagement session at Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, bringing along their two dogs. Sometimes putting in a little more effort to travel to a spot like this reaps great rewards by allowing for engagement pictures in a gorgeous setting.

Loud metal music. The smell of steel and rubber. The sound of weights crashing. Can tenderness be found here? Hell, yeah, it can - check out Kristen and Chris’ engagement session. Engagement photos do not have to be walks through a sun dappled garden . . .

They say if March comes in like a lamb it will go out like a lion, but the cold and rain proved no match for the warmth of Katelyn and Zachary's engagement session in Chattanooga.  Take a look at them!

I spent a day with Sarah and Jordan, photographing their engagement session in New York City.  We went to Ft. Tryon and its "environs" (hint: rhymes with oysters), as well as the Brooklyn Bridge.  What a dynamic couple!  I am eager to photograph their wedding this June.

The setting for Elizabeth and Matthew's engagement session was Washington DC, offering a unique perspective of our nation's capital, including the US Capitol Building.  A busy town makes for some challenges but that did not stop us from making great images.
