fine art portraiture

Here is my motto: NO PHOTO SHOOTS.

Photo shoots have become an occasion where the photographer meets up with the clients, shakes hands, heads to some park or outdoor area, takes at least 25 photos if not more, and calls it a day.

That is fine if all you want are “some nice pictures.” But a portrait session goes deeper. It is the result of careful planning beforehand, styling the subject, staging a setting, and - most important of all - the photographer shooting mindfully with the intent of making art.

Includes a session fee of $200 and a $300 print credit.

  • Pre-session consultation and planning

  • Photography session up to 4 hours

  • Post-session review and product selection, where your print credit will be applied

The sessions can be done in studio or on location. I have access to various sites that allow for the session to be conducted both indoors and outdoors at no additional cost; however, fees may apply for special locations.

At the post-session review and product selection, the print credit will be applied to the selection of prints, wall art, or folios. After the print credit is fully applied, gift prints, photo books, and digital collections may be purchased.

Sometimes a client wants a conceptual portrait. In this maternity image, the client, a hairdresser, wanted to incorporate her business, her partner, and a rockabilly pinup style. The set was the kitchen of a friend who favors a more 50’s vintage look. The portrait has a cinematic feel and tells its own story.

Fine art portraiture can be used for children, seniors, prom, maternity, cosplay, or boudoir. That is why planning and collaboration is critical to producing unique and quality images.
