Hand Selfies!

Well, seems this is a thing!

Hands are one of the first places on the body to age, and apparently Instagram filters that smooth out our skin while simultaneously making the scenery look like a 1970s French film are just not cutting it. “Hand lifts” have been gaining in popularity of late, especially for brides-to-be. Yes, hand lifts. NYC dermatologist Dr. Ariel Ostad says the procedure is not new, but he estimates that he’s had a 40 percent increase since the rise of social media and selfies.

Wait a minute - isn't this what Photoshop is for?!

I can understand that if presented with a beautiful engagement ring, a woman would want to show it off and place pictures on social media.  Who wouldn't?  We can always use more pictures of things of beauty.

The ring set from a recent wedding that I photographed.

The procedures for the "hand lifts" are costing anywhere from $1200 to $5000, depending on the amount of work and the skill of the surgeon.

I have a better idea . . .

For much, much less - oh, say, $100 - what if I shot it and "fixed" it in Photoshop?  Seems to me, there are better ways to spend your money . . . especially if you are trying to stick to a wedding budget.

And no needles!
