People of Note: Jody Butler.
Let me introduce you to Jody Butler, LCSW of Cove Mountain Counseling.
Jody is one of those living saints on earth, the therapists who help us when the world gets too much. Jody specializes in counseling for addiction and PTSD. And now she is offering a new type of healing called Acudetox - let me use Jody's own words to describe what it is:
Acudetox is a method that will assist you in your healing journey, either on its own or as an adjunct to other therapies. it is a non-verbal process that lasts 30-45 minutes, while you sit comfortably, relaxing in a quiet atmosphere. Benefits are varied. The following are only some of the reported benefits.
- Reduced pain
- Reduced depression and anxiety
- Reduced cravings for food, tobacco, alcohol and drugs
- Better able to manage and reduce anger and frustration.
- Improved sleep.
- Increased energy.
Jody reached out to me for a professional headshot. I spent some time with her to discuss her work and we collaborated on what type of impression her headshot should make, given her clientele - warm, inviting, safe. Jody's office is in a restored Victorian house in Maryville and I suggested that its ambiance was a better setting for a headshot than a studio as it offered a sense of security and home to people seeking healing. I always conduct a pre-session consultation because your headshot should be done with purpose - it is created for a potential client or employer to see and say, "That's the person I want to work with!"
Once again, kudos to Tatyana Wilcox for hair and makeup for this session. She always does a great job and tailors her work to the purpose of the photography.
And thank you to Jody for giving me the opportunity to provide her with my services. After working with her, I can tell you that she is a warm, vivacious, and caring person, the type that is ideal for someone with broken pieces in their lives. If you need a gentle hand to help you through tough times in life, consider Jody!
