First Time at the Troll Bridge: Elizabeth and Bo’s Proposal

Welp, No. 85 is in the books.

My 85th marriage proposal photographed, that is, and this time it was at a spot I have not used before for a proposal: the famed Troll Bridge. Now, a lot of people have heard of the Troll Bridge and just as many people ask, “Where is it?!” This time of year, with thick vegetation, it can be difficult to spot from the Little River Trail. Here, I did a reel while waiting for Bo and Elizabeth and the caption for it gives directions. I have photographed there before on several occasions but this was the first time there would be a marriage proposal!

Poor Bo - he was afraid he was too early for the appointed time and continued to lead Elizabeth around on a hike in the wilds of Elkmont, all the while dropping hints about gnomes and trolls. Bo later told me that their tracker showed the day was spent hiking some 12.5 miles, with Elizabeth likely wondering, where is he taking me and is this going to end well?

It ended great - just check these out!

Of course, a short photo shoot follows every proposal . . .

Elizabeth told me that she likes moss and she likes mushrooms. So it was imperative for me to find both for her engagement ring.

Join me, won’t you, in wishing Elizabeth and Bo many happy years together!
