A Midsummer Night's Dream: Krista and Tom

The South tends to have two main wedding seasons: from Spring to early Summer, and then the last quarter of the year, especially October. The reason is simple: come Summer, t’s hot. It’s humid. It’s sticky.

But for Krista, it was necessary as she is a teacher and teachers have their time available when the kids are out of school for summer. The good news is that she and Tom - whom we love despite being a Patriots fan, but at least he doesn’t root for the Cowboys - chose a beautiful venue atop a hill that offered breezes to keep the party cool: Howe Farms in Georgetown, TN, which is just north of Chattanooga.

And a party it was! After Krista did a reveal to her Dad and her Mom surprised her with a special note, she and Tom had their First Look up at Howe Farms’ Highland Chapel, followed by a lovely outdoor ceremony by the Apple Barn. The Apple Barn hosted the reception and the party went on into the night - even better, another wedding a short distance away decided to have fireworks, such that for the distance, Krista and Tom actually had the better view of them!

Let me say this, though - you can have the greatest decor and the most fabulous venue, and certainly here that was not lacking, but it takes the spirit of the couple to make a wedding spectacular. Krista and Tom have that spirit, filled with faith. Recently, I met with them over Zoom to finalize their wedding album, that I will be featuring here when it arrives from Italy. It gave the three of us the chance to reminisce about that day and we laughed, whether it was when the DJ played “Halo” for Krista’s entrance - only he started playing the theme song from the video game instead of Beyonce’s hit, or the faces made by the groom’s mom during their dance together. Guess what - those moments are what really matter in the years to come. And for the record, I liked the fact that these two came away from the altar, boogying to “Shut Up and Dance With Me.”

I invite you now to see the midsummer magic that was the wedding of Krista and Tom.

I told Krista nd Tom about the subreddit r/accidentalwesanderson and how this shot qualified.

Water bottle removed for inclusion in their album. I always do a careful retouch on album spreads.
