Flamenco: the Dance of Love

While I was on a Zoom meeting with Myriam and Katrina to plan the timeline for their wedding last October in Florida, when we had all the points covered, Katrina summarily – and laughingly – told Myriam that she needed to leave the call so that Katrina could talk to me alone.

Once Myriam was out of earshot, Katrina told me her plan: at their wedding reception, she was going to quietly slip out and change from her bridal gown into a white dress.  Then she, her dance instructor, and another friend would come back in and perform that greatest of sensual dances, the flamenco.  It would be Katrina’s way to honor her wife.

She told me to be ready for it.

And I was.  And what I was saw was simply beautiful and wonderful.  It is easy enough to say “I love you” to your partner – but to express it as Katrina did in her dance, ah, that is a declaration that cannot be denied.

Long life and happiness to these wonderful women!
