Setting Spotlight: Tsali Notch Vineyard

This is the first post for what will become a series called Setting Spotlight, showcasing some cool spots where I have done various on location photo sessions. I invite you to use it as a guide for your own sessions.

Tsali Notch Vineyard is a charming and serene winery located in Madisonville, Tennessee. The winery takes its name from the nearby Tsali Notch, a natural passageway in the Appalachian Mountains, which in turn is named after Tsali, a Cherokee leader.

Tsali Notch offers a rich and varied setting for photographs. Rows of lush vines. A vintage truck. An old wood barn. A stone patio. And a gorgeous moutain view. And even better is the fact that you can sit and enjoy their muscadine wines along with some locally sourced cheeses. In fact, you do not even have to be doing a session there to head down and visit the vineyard.

At just an hour’s drive from Knoxville, it is well situated for senior sessions, engagement sessions, and family sessions. Yes, you can have a wedding there! There is a small fee that is required by the owners to use the property for photo sessions but for the opportunity to make use of such a unique setting, it is worth it.

Enjoy these scenes of Luke and Kristina’s combination engagement/family session that illustrate Tsali Notch’s beauty.
