Matching Attitudes: Adam and Halee's Proposal in the Mist

Sometimes the best-laid plans . . . just don’t come to fruition.

And the mark of a couple well matched is when that happens but it cannot undo their joy. Such was Halee and Adam atop the mountains of North Carolina for his proposal of marriage.

Oh, sure, the IDEA was a gorgeous mountain view. But while I distinctly recall yelling at Mother Nature to cooperate, she was not going to cooperate. I got to the appointed site to find three things: cold, whipping winds, and a heavy mist that obscured any chance of a view.

And honestly, when you are in love . . . who cares?

The dashing Army lieutenant, who dragged his poor girlfriend out into the inclement weather in the hopes of seeing the mountains spread before them, dropped to his knee and popped the question.

And she said yes!

When you attend a wedding, you hear described the times when the couple will be together and helping one another - “good times and in bad.” Halee and Adam are two who can weather the storm; in fact, it seems that is how they are starting out! When I saw their happiness despite the lousy weather, the world got warmer and the clouds disappeared. You have to understand, I get to see the future in young adults like these two and it is a very, very bright one, knowing they are a team going into it!

And, as I always close the posts on the proposals I photograph . . .

Mazel tov, you crazy kids!
