Young Skater: a Portrait Study

Is it hog and muggy? Then maybe it is time for some Winter fun.

I constructed a snowy scene in my studio and Miss Zoey came in, ready to skate. Okay, maybe there wasn’t an ice rink but sometimes the most fun is had pretending.

Just the right session for hot and muggy days!

Oh, the weather inside ain’t frightful,

In fact it’s purely delightful!

And as long the AC will go -

Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow!

Props to Zoey - it was not always easy for her to balance on her skates in positions that rely on movement to maintain balance. But she is a trouper and held herself tall.

I won’t show you where the pictures started because yes, this takes a little Photoshop magic and a magician never reveals their secret. I am happy to collaborate with someone who wanted a studio portrait with a bit of fantasy thrown in. A little magic brightens the day!

Ah, but eventually it was time to take off the skates. Besides, it looked as if the weather was getting worse and a hard freeze was forecast for the night. Time for hot cocoa!

All in a summer day’s work . . .
