With football season just around the corner in East Tennessee, it’s time to break out the orange and white—and I’d like you to meet one of the Vols’ biggest (and cutest) fans: Persephone. But you can call her Percy.
Percy, as she’s lovingly called, is a miniature schnauzer with a show-stopping gaze—one blue eye, one brown—and a personality just as vibrant as her University of Tennessee jersey. Her family booked a portrait session to capture more than just her good looks. They wanted to celebrate the joy, loyalty, and unconditional love that Percy brings to their lives every single day.
We met at Roane County Park, which served as both a scenic backdrop and a natural playground. Percy strutted her stuff in true Vols spirit, proudly repping her orange as she explored trails, sniffed out every squirrel, and posed like she knew exactly who the star was.
While her solo shots were full of personality, it was the images with her humans that told the real story. There’s a certain look dogs give when they’re with their people—relaxed, proud, utterly secure. Percy had it in spades. There’s even a bit of attitude in the way she carries herself, like she’s saying, “These two are my ride or die—and I dare you to mess with them.”
That’s what I love capturing. Not just the dog, but the bond. The loyalty. The sense of belonging that runs both ways.
Percy’s humans are already planning an exciting adventure next year: a trip to France, and yes, they hope Percy will join them. Something tells me she’ll charm the French just as easily as she did me.
Percy’s session was more than just a walk through the park—it was a portrait of love, loyalty, and a life well-lived at her humans’ side. Whether perched on a stump, guarding the dock, or sniffing through wildflowers, she radiated confidence and joy. Trust me, that comes only with a dog having the best owners!
These images are more than cute—they’re proof of a bond built on trust, adventure, and the everyday magic that happens when a dog finds her people. If you’ve got a four-legged child of your own, now’s the time to capture that story—before the next chapter takes you all the way to France.
Ready to tell your dog’s story? Whether it’s a quiet moment by the lake or a tail-wagging sprint down a wooded trail, let’s capture the bond that makes your pup one of a kind.
