Engagement Session in Cades Cove: Lauren and David

Lauren and David are a lovely couple from the great state of Florida. And heroes, too - David as a firefighter and Lauren is an ER nurse. Hopefully, with the stress of vocations such as theirs, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park provided them a respite in its beauty. They deserve it!

Recently engaged, they decided to do their engagement session in the mountains and after some consultation, we agreed to use Cades Cove. Now, Cades Cove is a popular spot in the park and offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, including the park’s famed black bears. Sometimes that can be a problem, since when a bear is spotted, a “:bear jam” can occur, where motorists slow down and stop to grab a picture. However, as a photographer, I like Cades Cove for the variety it allows me to have my clients in various settings. In fact, I can say that based on the different times of the day and the different seasons of the year, no session is ever the same!

After stopping in various settings, I suggested to Lauren and David that they have some fun with a bit of a splash session at Abrams Creek as it crosses Sparks Lane.

And yes - there were bears! I am always happy when my out-of-town clients get a chance to see the stars of the GSMNP!
